Do you want to work for Tier 1 Automotive interiors specialist?

We have a unique opportunity for a Commerical Automotive Account Manager to work with their Japanese Automotive OEMs based in Warwick, West Midlands

The successful candidate will be responsible for

New Business: -
Identifying and supporting new business opportunities.
Responding to RFQ's for new models.
Clarifying specifications and acting as the link between the technical and estimating teams in Spain and the customer.
Determining pricing strategies using internal profitability tools.
Preparing and submitting quotations.
Preparing and presenting business proposals.
Negotiation of pricing agreements for new business.

New Projects Commercial Support
Working with the project manager(s) and the project teams in to control all aspects of commercial / pricing / and tooling cost activities.
Ensuring engineering change costs are captured in mass production cost follow activity.
Margin improvement activities.
Quotation and agreement of all tooling costs.
Ensuring and maintaining records of capital investment, piece price, and tooling recovery.
Margin improvement activities.
Support customer meetings and cost reviews.

Current Business - Account Management

First point of contact for customer and ownership of customer concerns
Continual liaison primarily with OEM Purchasing department.
Ensuring and maintaining records of capital investment, piece price, and tooling recovrey
Commercial control of change management.
Control of customer directed supplier component/raw material pricing.
Assist with annual price negotiations.
Assist with preparation of annual budgets.
Material price and currency effect price change recovery.
Supporting Senior Account Manager in developing. Planning, and executing the sales strategy.

Service/Aftermarket
Commercial liaison with OEM service parts operations.
Negotiation of service part pricing strategy with customer purchasing.
New project price creation.

Skills required

Full understanding of commercial and engineering systems and processes.
Previous experience in OEM customer facing commercial role.
Full understanding of automotive OEM development cycle.
A good understanding of commercial principles, costing systems and quotation tools.
Clear and concise communication and interpersonal skills.
Organised, disciplined, and flexible approach.
Experience of interior trim.
Ability to operate and adapt to multi national working environment.

Person Specification

The person will be an experienced individual with some knowledge of automotive OEM processes who can quickly become an effective member of the commercial team. A self starter, with a professional and confident approach, with the ability to operate effectively with minimum supervision will be important.
Some travel in UK and abroad may be required.

MS Office including excel and powerpoint.
Clear and concise communication and interpersonal skills.
Organised, disciplined, and flexible approach.
Ability to quickly grasp design, quality, manufacturing, and logistical issues and how they impact commercial on the business
Understanding of how Japanese OEM's operate would be an advantage.

Hours

39 hours per week standard
08:30-17:30 Monday-Thursday (with ½ hour paid break)
08:30-13:30 Friday
30-minute unpaid lunch break

It is expected that you will work such hours as are necessary to fulfil the requirements of your role
