Project Manager- Security- Water

We currently have a great opportunity for a Project Manager to work for a UK leading construction company on a freelance basis. The role is based out of an office in Leicestershire, however you will be required to travel to site destinations. Therefore the candidate can be located anywhere between the office in Leicestershire and the South Coast (Brighton specifically).

The Project Manager will be responsible for all production & commercial functions on specific projects, and to maintain & maximise quality of service and profitability. Delivery of multi-site construction and security projects allocated to the time, cost and quality objectives of the client and business unit managers.

The Key Responsibilities include:
• Management & control of the project management aspects of projects
• Responsibility for the project management functions
• Assistance in the procurement of subcontracts
• Advice & assistance to the operations team in the project management of NEC3 contracts and subcontracts
• Provision of accurate & timely project reports and advice to the management team
• Reduce or minimise commercial risk
• Advice & assistance concerning notification of compensation events, assessments and submission of quotations, and the contractual procedure to take contractual differences up to the point of dispute crystallisation where appropriate
• Advice & assistance regarding programme, acceleration, Key Dates and Completion Dates
• Take responsibility regarding quality, health, safety and the environment
• Provision of accurate project reports
• Monitor project performance against forecast
• Understanding of contractual requirements
• Contribution to the effective management of NEC3

The successful Project Manager will possess:

• Security Clearance to SC or BPSS level
• Experience covering project management and a sound understanding of project risks and mitigation measures within the construction industry
• Thorough understanding of NEC3 conditions of contract
• Track record of work on NEC3 contracts being able to show personal contact with the actions required as part of the Contractor's or Project Manager's obligations under those contracts included in the track record
• Knowledge of company management systems
• Previous knowledge of Critical National Infrastructure Security market preferred
• Contractual knowledge in various forms of contract
• Knowledge of current legislation
• Project Management Professional Certification
• Relevant CSCS card
