We are looking for an inspirational and experienced Nursing Home Manager to oversee a purpose-built 74-bedded nursing home in Stoke that specialises in respite and palliative care. The successful candidate will ensure that the best quality of care is delivered to residents every day, and will be comfortable liaising with residents, families, and external bodies. You will have the autonomy to manage your own budget, and will be responsible for ensuring your team are working in accordance with the group’s statement of purpose. The home has recently received Requires Improvement rating with CQC, so we are looking for a strong manager with a robust knowledge of current legislation to implement policy to improve care standards and inspire all staff. A nursing qualification is essential for the role, and we are able to offer an excellent salary and bonus package.

Duties include:

  • Supervising all staff in the home, ensuring quality of care.

  • Working within frameworks governed by NMC, CQC, and local authority.

  • Ensuring end of life care is of the highest quality.

  • Staff recruitment, selection, and retention.

  • Working within budget.

  • Ensuring care plans are tailored and up to date.

  • Communicating with empathy and professionalism with residents, families, and professional bodies.

  • Maximising occupancy of the home.

  • Developing policies and practices for all staff to adhere to.

Essential Qualifications/Experience

  • 2 years’ management experience in a large nursing home

  • Robust knowledge of CQC requirements


  • RMN/RGN qualigication
