We are recruiting for a Kitchen Manager to join our team Herald Lodge, a state-of-the-art Residential Care Home in Canley, Coventry.

You will be working 28.88 hours a week, 3 days on 3 days off, 8.00am - 5.00pm.

Your Role

Our Kitchen Managers effectively manage the kitchen team to plan, prepare and cook food to the highest standard in our state of the art care homes. Cooking delicious and nutritious meals for our residents, within an allocated budget, whilst maintaining a safe and clean environment makes our homes a great place to live and work.

Our Ideal Candidate

We are looking for individuals who are passionate about the what they do to join our team. Previous experience of supervising staff and catering for a minimum of 30 people is essential along with a solid knowledge of COSHH, HACCP and food hygiene. We offer full induction training and support to our team.

Role Responsibilities

Being a Kitchen Manager means your core focus is to plan, prepare and cook a variety of meals which are appealing, nutritious and centres around residents’ preferences, requests or any special dietary requirements. You will be required to be active and encouraging, provide advice and guidance for the team ensuring that the care home is a friendly, supportive working environment. Key responsibilities include:

·Ensuring that sufficient food stocks are ordered and received from approved suppliers and that stock rotation is taking place to maintain optimum freshness of all food stuff to maintain the highest quality as expected within the care home.

·Regularly monitor and assess residents’ satisfaction with the catering service provided in their home, and respond accordingly and positively to ideas and feedback.

·Attend regular resident and relative meetings to discuss the catering service within the care home.

·To understand and comply with statutory and legal requirements such as HACCP, Health and Safety, COSHH, Environmental Health, ensuring a safe environment within the home.

·To Implement, monitor and maintain cleaning schedules that meet the requirements of the HACCP Manual, and ensure that all areas of the kitchen are immaculately clean.

·Training, coaching and developing of new and existing kitchen staff to guarantee we are providing the highest level of food to our residents in line with compliance guidelines.

·Managing and controlling an identified budget for the care home’s catering service.

·Working well as part of a dynamic team to ensure that any nutrition needs of a resident’s care is met, enabling their personal choice to be reflected throughout their care journey
