With large scale growth across contracts a number of OEM customers, we are currently recruiting for an NPI-focused Project Manager to deliver support to our Global Tier 1 Automotive client in Birmingham. This represents a great opportunity for an NPI Project Manager from with industry experience to co-ordinate new projects with global leading customers from initial customer quotation, through design and volume manufacturing to completion.

Our client is a leading automotive manufacturer, based in the West Midlands region. With an international reach and sites across the UK this is a chance to join with a global business that is buoyant in the market with an ever-expanding order book. With four main OEM customers, the successful Project Manager will head-up a number of relationships, both internally and externally, to ensure that key programme metrics meet customers' expectations.


  • Create and develop programme timing plans to match customer requirements
  • Manage content of APQP process including all customer reporting
  • Assist in identifying manufacturing process changes to improve efficiencies and team potential
  • Manage resources in tandem with internal business function to deliver programmes
  • Control, track and report programme status through the programme life
  • Build relationships with internal and external customers
  • Present monthly updates including support data and problem resolution
  • Feedback from significant customer meetings to provide further programme updates
  • Identify business development opportunities with customers
  • Maximise the commercial potential of each customer programme ensuring the business case is strong through the product-development process


  • Background in Automotive Tier 1 Manufacturing
  • Detailed understanding of powertrain/ chassis component manufacturing
  • Excellent customer liaison skills
  • Target-driven and self-starting
  • Detailed knowledge of APQP process
  • Previous commercial responsibility for programmes
  • Natural leader, competent in building a team with hands-on approach

Job Offer

Salary from £50,000 - £55,000 DOE + excellent package
