My client, a leading organisation within their industry is currently seeking a Head of Digital Services to join their team on a Fixed Term Contract. They have a strong team ethic and are looking for somebody to share their passion in driving the business forward.

Job Description

Based at the (Worcester) office. The successful candidate will be accountable to the Executive board ensuring the realisation of business strategies and outcomes through the deployment an delivery of an appropriate and relevant Digital services Strategy.

Duties of the role:

• To lead, motivate and inspire the Digital Services team to provide customer focused services which meet the stated needs, current and future.

• To lead the creation of a well-functioning Digital Services Team, systems, processes, practices and procedures that help solve crimes and protect people from harm and which results in an environment whereby personnel are contented that their ICT makes their work easier and them more effective.

• To have a focus on putting the customer first in any service deign or delivery channel

• Ensuring that the Digital Services team has the right behaviours, capabilities, competencies and capacity at the right time

• Security and accessibility – ensuring that the right people have access to the right information at the right time in a manner that is both safe and secure.

• Maximising the value and trust of digital services to the group.

• Maximising the total cost of ownership

• Maximising the return on investment

• Maximising service performance

• Continual performance/service improvement – in terms of people, service and technology

• Service innovation – in terms of economy, efficiency and effectiveness of existing and new services

• Service integration, engagement and collaboration

• Lead and take individual accountability to plan, develop and implement strategy, policy, practice and procedure for all DS assets, service development and renewal to ensure best use of resources to enable the delivery of services to meet the agreed and defined levels of quality.

• To lead on the design, monitoring and review of all DS policies, processes and procedures to ensure that the required controls are in place, are effective and are being used as intended

• To deliver service excellence through management of performance

• To develop, maintain and improve the digital service to meet the needs of the organisation.

• Ensure the control processes are managed successfully and continuously reviewed

• To inspire, guide, support and motivate the team

• Fulfil the role of Information Asset Owner for all information and information processing systems managed within the department.

• The chair the Digital Services Steering group meetings

• To lead on regular reviews of budget, costs, performance, demand/volume and service scope/specification.

The Successful Applicant

• Proven experience of leading all ICT/Digital Service arrangements in a large complex multifaceted organisation

• Prove experience in creating and maintaining a culture of high performing staff, with the right skills and abilities, through leadership training and continual assessment

• Proven experience of working in a target/performance driven environment

• Proven experience of successful enabling of organisational change through development and delivery of ICT/DS strategy

• Proven experience of successful commercial engagement with suppliers and consultants

• Proven experience in managing revenue, capital and budgets

• Proven track record of developing strong working relationships with a wide number of stakeholders – internal and external.

• Successful management of large scale ICT/Digital Services programmes and projects including responsibility for related budgets in both public and private sectors

• Proven experience of target setting and evaluation for performance improvement

• Ability to think and contribute strategically at an executive level whilst maintaining a strong focus on operational activity and engagement

• Excellent and effective interpersonal skills

• Ability to operate calmly and professionally under pressure

• Ability to be persuasive, yet sensitive and tactful. To resolve conflict wisely and authoritatively.

• Ability to provide senior leadership on change management

• Ability to inspire, enthuse to keep people focused despite setback/difficulty
