The successful candidate will support the CVE Electronic team across a range of activities, principally with investigations to help determine root cause of problems and helping to ensure smooth introduction of engineering changes.

This will include Electric/Electronic System assessments, testing, vehicle teardown and reassembly, buy off and plant sweeps for containment actions.

Key Responsibilities & Tasks:

The Electronic Technician will be expected to: (a level of training will be provided for all key activities)

* Complete vehicle teardown for root cause investigation, and reassembly where required, and produce a comprehensive report to outline any findings.
* Conduct and monitor line trials through complete production process for failure modes
* Support process walks to determine possible error states.
* Conduct plant sweeps to ensure containment activities are carried forward onto built vehicles
* Use engineering vehicles to run development trials on new & modified parts to see if fit for production
* Support production with implementation of containments on line to ensure feasibility
* Ensure technicians on line are aware of imminent engineering changes
* Ensuring engineering changes resolve the original issue and do not result in any secondary defects
* Use of Electronic measurement equipment such as Multimeter, Oscilloscope, Datalogger, etc.
* Perform electrical diagnostics to aid any investigations
* Maintain and update any Electronic systems of the vehicles in the CVE fleet, including organising servicing, to ensure the vehicles remain road worthy.
* In order to support continuous process improvements all of CVE have window roles which need to be developed, standardised and trained out to the rest of the team and potentially rolled out across other divisions.

Qualifications & Experience:

The ideal candidate will already have a broad knowledge of Electric & Electronic technology and current production vehicles and be able to demonstrate a logical approach to problem investigation.


* Able to demonstrate a logical approach to problem investigation
* Good general knowledge of the Electronic architecture of a vehicle
* A good working knowledge of current production vehicle
* Basic awareness of a variety of component manufacturing process
* Proficient in MS Office (Outlook, Excel, Word & Powerpoint)
* Experience of working as part of cross functional teams
* Full UK driving license


* Experience of component development and manufacture
* Has experience in Failure Mode Avoidance (DFMEA/PFMEA/Drawing Study/Quality History)
* Familiar with inspection standards (parts (PQS) / vehicle (VIS))
* Understands CAD, technical drawings & drawing standards
* Experience in BOM (bill of materials) to determine part history
* Flexible for both time and UK/overseas travel
