This is an exciting opportunity to help lead and develop our rapidly expanding Chemotherapy Service at the state of the art Hospital in Worcester.

Following a rigorous assessment of its Oncology and Haematology Suite as well as the rest of the hospital.

The successful candidate will be offered Equivalent to Band 7 salary depending on experience plus other many great benefits.
Our Oncology & Haematology Suite provides access to leading cancer doctors, the latest technologies and a dedicated specialist team to offer high quality care to people diagnosed with cancer. The hospital boasts the latest up-to-date technology and equipment, in-house pharmacy service, on-site specialist imaging facilities, including MRI & CT scanning; X-ray; ultrasound; and mammography, a scalp cooling service and iPads in each pod to browse the internet during treatment.

You will be in at the beginning of a committed team striving for excellence. An ambitious nursing professional, you will lead and develop the delivery of high quality planned care for cancer patients undergoing systemic anti-cancer therapies (SACT). Alongside providing hands-on care to patients and clinical leadership to the Oncology team, you will deliver specialist education and undertake research and audit in the field of cancer care. You’ll also play a key role in developing and improving our cancer services.

A registered nurse, you will bring recognised qualification in the delivery of SACT and you’ll have or be working towards a recognised qualification in independent prescribing. An MSc in oncology practice would be highly desirable. A proven track record of oncology or chemotherapy nursing, ideally within a day case chemotherapy environment, will be essential. Your strong nursing, leadership and management skills will be matched by a passion for delivering excellent care. Articulate and adaptable, resilient and empathetic, you’ll put patients at the heart of everything you do.
