Overall Job Purpose:To lead and govern complex, large scale, transformation engagementsacross SCC. The Lead Architect role provides senior technical governanceon complex programmes of delivery work and broad subject matterexpertise to customers and colleagues. The role holder will be expectedto act as a technical design authority and take overall ownership ofsolutions providing leadership to subject matter experts and completingreviews of technical documentation.Main Duties of Job: Act as technical lead for complex customer engagements Take overall ownership of technical solutions and design documentation Lead technical design workshops and participate in project definition workshops Ensure alignment of business and technical objectives for customer projects Act as the key programme or project technical contact for customers and colleagues Work alongside programme and project management colleagues to define and deliver programme and project documentation Carry out presales activites, where required, in support of Solution Architecture and sales force colleagues Provide technology thought leadership to customers and colleagues within SCC Participate in peer review of documentation for colleagues across SCC Ensure documentation standards are maintained across engagements Act as a mentor to lead and develop colleagues across SCC Maintain a broad understanding of competitive products and associated architectural principles Working alongside Professional Services Solution Architecture colleagues to develop and deliver service offerings based on industry best practice and emerging technologies To obtain and maintain technical accreditations as required by management in accordance with the guidelines provided by manufacturers and software vendors Skills, Knowledge & Experience:Essential At least 10 years experience of working in a professional services technology role Demonstrable experience of presenting technical solutions to both technology focused and non-technology focused customers up to and including board level personnel Demonstrable knowledge of a broad range of technologies with specific focus on Microsoft including Azure and Office 365 Understanding of complementary, core technologies including network and network security infrastructure, storage area networking, and virtualisation Professional qualifications e.g. MCP, MCSE, CCIA, VCP Maintain an in-depth knowledge of industry standards and best practice techniques Excellent oral and written communication skills Experienced in the management and motivation of technical personnel Excellent communication and presentation skills Ability to work as part of a team and also unaided Commercially aware with strong client facing and vendor relationship management skills Ability to work under pressure and meet aggressive deadlines Ability to adapt and prioritise workloads to meet client objectives Ability to anticipate, communicate, and mitigate technical risks and issues Desirable Understanding of programme and project management methodologies Understanding of enterprise architecture frameworks and methodologies In-depth knowledge and experience of the IT services marketplace and the challenges facing customers Current holder of or ability to obtain security clearance Good time management skills To apply or find out more information about this role, please call: 0121 766 2605or email: malcolm.fry@scc.com Apply for Lead Architect in Birmingham, Bracknell, London - provided by Dice AZURE, ENTERPRISE ARCHITECTURE, MCP, MCSE, MICROSOFT, PROJECT MANAGEMENT
