Our Client is one of the World Automotive leaders in the manufacture and supply of Electric Vehicles, working with the latest technology from their state-of-the art factory in the West Midlands. As such, we are actively looking to recruit 3 experienced Cost Estimators / Cost Engineers on a minimum 1-year contract basis, with the possibility of these maybe being offered a permanent position, or contract extension, at the end of this term, for those that want it and can prove themselves.

You'll be responsible for exploring and developing cost-effective design and manufacturing opportunities which, while presented alongside robust commodity strategies, will be an integral part of a successful relationship within the business.

In addition, you'll provide insight and support to Advanced Engineering in the form of Value Engineering studies and will support the Purchasing team in their negotiations with suppliers. You'll also need to identify and support opportunities to reduce costs, which will include influencing relevant programmes and commodity directions. As you'll be working as part of a cross-functional team, you'll engage in liaison with the Supplier Base and across all functions of the Company to determine the most effective cost solutions for the business.

Qualifications & Experience ideally required:

-You are expected to have commercial knowledge and previous experience within Manufacturing, ideally within Automotive, as well as a good understanding of cost structures and experience generating estimates with the Manufacturing industry or similar (including cost estimation and quote analysis).
-In all cases, you will need to be an experienced Cost Estimator / Cost Engineer.
-You'll need to be able to work with cost and content sign-off, process feasibility and manufacturing process advice, as well as cost interrogation and supplier negotiation.
-It is likely you'll have previously worked with Purchasing, Product Engineering and Manufacturing to put together a competitive cost analysis of manufactured goods.
-You should complement your profile with an understanding of engineering and manufacturing processes and have the willingness to travel.
-A driving licence will also be required.

The day rate on offer is, to an extent, negotiable and will be based upon relevant experience.
