CER is pleased to be working in partnership with this medium size MAT which has further ambitious growth plans. They are now seeking a talented Trust Accountant to lead on all aspects of the Trust finance function.
Reporting to the Executive Director, you will be responsible for budget and financial reporting of 15 schools within the Trust, both secondary and primary. Leading a team of seven staff, you will ensure the smooth running of the finance function, from EFSA reporting, supporting the Executive Director in the preparation of statutory accounts for annual audit and ensuring financial reports and trial balances are available within strict deadlines for each school.
You will continuously review and improve the internal control framework, managing the fixed asset register and capital build budget. This is a highly diverse role and requires a diligent and technical accountant with a good knowledge of charity or public sector accounting.
The ideal candidate will be studying towards a CCAB qualification or is qualified. You will be a natural team leader and be confident in questioning information and delivering to strict timescales. You will visit the schools on occasion and you will be professional and a good communicator, building relationships easily.
