NPD Leader - Walsall - Highly Competitive Salary - Hydraulics Experience Ideal!

As the successful NPD Leader you will play a lead role in developing the company’s ongoing and future innovation strategies, identifying and understanding customer needs to create a sustainable product portfolio to increase revenue through the global market.
In conjunction with the R&D team you will own the NPD process and product life cycle from creation of new ideas , concept validation, prototyping and testing, to complete project delivery, working closely with the senior management team including the Engineering Lead, Global Product Manager, and Commercial Manager.

The Role:

* Line management responsibility for the R&D / NPD engineers.
* Ownership of the company NPD process and value stream.
* Work within the sub team and cross functionally to industrialise market leading innovative products.
* Create an innovative and forward thinking culture.
* Carry out feasibility studies, reviews and complex design calculations.
* Conduct research into developing or emerging technologies.
* Regularly interfacing with the Global Product Manager to ensure project objectives are met.
* Work closely with the Engineering Lead to drive engineering system improvements.
* Exchange knowledge across R&D / NPD teams in other product divisions within the group.
* Travel in the UK and internationally may be required to maximise success in this role

Requirements:

* Have a proven track record of delivering new products into the market.
* Must be a strong relationship builder.
* Be a problem solver who is not afraid to challenge current methods, and ideals.
* Possess high level knowledge of CAD and FEA to implement design from concepts to production.
* Have experience designing application specific high pressure hydraulic equipment.
* Own and produce highly detailed technical documentation and reports in line with the company’s NPD processes.
* Manage and deliver projects from idea to implementation according to tight time lines and on budget.
