Job Title: Fitness and Community Partnership Manager
Responsible to: Head of Health and Wellbeing Services
Responsible for: YMCA Gym and Leisure facilities
Remuneration: £21,000
Hours per week: 40
Base: YMCA Black Country Group, Western Gateway, 38 Carters Green, West Bromwich B70 9LG.
Annual leave: 28 days (includes statutory holidays) (pro-rata)

Background:
YMCA Black Country Group is a group of YMCA charitable companies & associated trading subsidiaries operating in the Black Country and South Staffordshire area. The charity employs around 230 staff across several sites, delivering a wide range of community services including supported housing, youth work, childcare and family support, drug and alcohol support interventions, skills and employment training, health and wellbeing services, and work in prisons.

Job Role:
Working as part of the YMCA Black Country Group Health and Wellbeing Service, you will manage Western Gateway Leisure Facilities and implement engaging programmed timetabled activities while generating multiple income streams and leading on relevant community Health and Wellbeing initiatives.
You will have a proven track record in working within a high-quality customer service or sales environment, preferably in the fitness industry (although other business sectors considered). You will thrive reaching agreed key performance indicators. You will have the ability to drive the Gym culture and to meet and exceed member expectations. You will support the Head of Health and Wellbeing Services to achieve goals set for the club’s continued success.
Experience in sales, accurate record keeping and data entry are vital to the role.
The post holder must be able to respect the Christian Ethos of the YMCA and uphold its values. An enhanced DBS clearance will also be required.

Duties and Responsibilities
The post holder will operate and work flexibly to ensure that the Gym and Health and Wellbeing initiatives are achieved.

1. To provide line management support for the Gym team/ sessional workers.
2. To be client/customer focused, polite, professional, engaging and build rapport with all clients and partner organisations to generate membership uptake and retention.
3. Develop and coordinate all activities relating to the YMCA Gym facilities working closely with the YMCA Head of Health and Wellbeing Services.
4. Develop a new timetable offer for Gym members on a quarterly basis ensuring staff coverage.
5. Work closely with Head of Health and Wellbeing Services to deliver the Gym marketing strategy.
6. Identify and complete regular promotion through the club’s database and online platforms.
7. Collate and evaluate feedback from customers with a view to constantly improving the service.
8. Ensure staff deliver excellent customer service to club members and prospective customers.
9. Manage all member enquiries and deal with all compliments and complaints in line with YMCABC complaints procedure.
10. Ensure you have full product knowledge of all aspects of the club to help answer any prospect/member queries.
11. Develop effective working relationships with the team and other stakeholders to share and develop best practice and cross sell Health and Wellbeing opportunities.
12. Manage sales and retention of membership.
13. To utilise the central data system, ensuring that data is processed and recorded accurately and in a timely manner and in accordance to data protection regulations.
14. Manage and maintain accurate membership, room booking, finance and monitoring records in line with YMCA Black Country Group requirements.
15. Provide regular reports as required by the Head of health & Wellbeing services.
16. Conduct tours, manage all incoming enquiries/respond to emails and ensure daily call targets are achieved.
17. To ensure rooms are set up/ packed away and cleaned in accordance to bookings as appropriate.
18. Deliver a range of classes to support the Gym activity timetable as necessary.
19. Support members on the Gym floor by completing inductions/ one-to-one encouraging and motivating programmes as necessary.
20. Implement an effective lone working policy and procedure for the Gym team.
21. Ensure the Gym facilities adhere to Health and Safety requirements at all times.
22. Ensure all aspects of policies and procedures are followed at all times by YMCA Black Country Group staff and sessional workers with a positive attitude and a high level of consistent service.
23. Ensure positive actions take place in regards to ensuring you safeguard community members following relevant policies and procedures.
24. Undertake evening and weekend working as required.
25. Undertake other general duties as appropriate to the role.

Experience Essential Desirable
Managing and supporting staff/ sessional workers and volunteers. 
Engaging and building rapport with clients and partner organisations to generate membership uptake and retention. 
Developing an exciting fitness class timetable and Health and Wellbeing packages to increase sales and maintain retention of members. 
Develop and deliver a Gym marketing strategy. 
Motivating staff/sessional workers and volunteers deliver excellent customer service to club members and prospective customers 
Managing all member enquiries and deal with all compliments and complaints 
Managing and maintaining accurate finance and monitoring records 
Ensuring facilities adhere to Health and Safety requirements at all times 
Level 3 or above Management qualification and/ or management experience 
Qualifications
Level 3 or above within Health and Wellbeing arena (i.e. mental health, nutrition, fitness) 
GP Referral qualification 
Exercise to music and/or able to teach a minimum of 3 different fitness classes. 
Marketing Qualification Level 3 or above 
Business Administration Level 3 or above 
Skills
Deliver a range of classes to support the Gym activity timetable as necessary. 
Ability to conduct tours, manage all incoming enquiries/respond to emails and ensure daily call targets are achieved. 
Ability to produce reports on outcomes, progression and service evaluations. 
Ability to promote and market services to produce sales. 
Excellent administration and accurate record keeping, producing information as required to deadline. 

An ability to work alongside partner agency staff. 
To be driven, dynamic and service-motivated with excellent people skills 

Knowledge
Good knowledge of IT/computer software and ability to learn new systems quickly. 

Demonstrate an excellent understanding of health & safety including risk assessments. 
Demonstrate an understanding of different health conditions, cultures, cultural practices, and the ability to work with sensitivity to these issues. 
