Associate Director Civil and Structural- Permanent- Warwickshire
Specialising in complex infrastructure, process and built environments across the full project life cycle, in disciplines ranging from initial architecture to civil and structural, building services, specialist high voltage and process engineering services, programme management and CDM consultancy, using the latest innovations in Building Information Modelling (BIM) for the most efficient and cost-effective design our client is currently looking to recruit an Associate Director for their Civil/ Structural department.
Under guidance of the Director you will lead the regional C&S team to achieve the company's business objectives as below:
Ensure regional C&S team performance meets overall business objectives commercially and technically
Ensure regional team has in place appropriate skills and resources to suit workload
Ensure compliance with business quality & management systems
Implement change as directed by the Director and leadership team
Principal Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
Generate and secure engineering design commissions in Local Regional Office
Use existing client, developer, architect, project manager contacts to generate work winning opportunities (especially in the Building Structure Sector) for the Civil & Structural Engineering Team.
Assist the UK Director for Civil & Structural Engineering and the Business Development Sector Directors in promoting the company brand as a market leading engineering consultant.
Contribute to the development and growth of UK-wide Civil & Structural Engineering Department, actively participating in the Department Management Team Meetings and decision-making.
Day-to-day management of the C&S team
Help develop the department to meet business objectives
Ensure team compliance with company management system
Help to drive the creation of a wider capability
Task:
Lead C&S design delivery across multiple projects, in single- or multi- discipline teams
Implement 'Perfect Delivery'
Report on project performance to Associate Director
Lead tender preparation for projects of all sizes, including fee estimates
Lead multi-disciplinary design teams where required
Carry out technical design reviews / critiques of projects in progress
A technical authority on civil and structural design
Be open to and encourage innovation and sustainability
People:
Mentor, train and develop junior engineers, particularly with reference to ICE training agreements
Develop capabilities of all members of the C&S team
Motivate individuals to maximise performance
Qualifications and Training:
Chartered Civil/ Structural Engineer CEng MICE/ MIStructE
Appropriate depth and breadth of experience
CSCS Card
SC clearance
Full Clean Current UK Driving Licence
Technical skills and experience
Conversant with current C&S design codes & standards
Experienced in discharging responsibilities under CDM and health and safety regulations
Comprehensive and current knowledge base of all aspects of civil and structural design, including: drainage, foundation design, earthworks and site investigations, minor road and bridge design, building structures, rail and associated infrastructure (preferable)
Specialist knowledge or sector expertise (e.g. nuclear, seismic, public sector, contaminated land, ground improvement, highways, public sector, defence)
Demonstrable track record of exceptional project delivery and client satisfaction
Experience of major projects delivery within some of the sectors we operate within
Fully familiar with all technical standards and assurance processes
Proven ability to work within a fully integrated, multi-discipline design team
