SALARY: £18,000.00 (rising to £21,000.00 after 6 months)
HOURS: Monday to Friday, 08:30am – finish (6:00pm/6:30pm)
THE COMPANY: Our client is a family-owned road haulage and logistics business started in the 1960s. Over the past 50 years, they have earned a reputation for excellent service and reliability in all aspects of transport. They are the chosen carrier of large Channel Islands customers and blue-chip UK suppliers, as well as numerous Spanish clients.
Our client’s driver accompanied services are operated on a scheduled basis taking in Jersey, Guernsey, Alderney, Sark, Herm, Isle of Wight, Isle of Man and the Costa Blanca region of Spain.
THE ROLE: Our client is looking for a motivated administrator for our Traffic office. The role involves administering the Good In process; booking accepted goods in to our database and arranging subsequent transport needs by assigning wagon loads and producing corresponding paperwork for transport and delivery.
The role will require the administrator to be experienced in use of Microsoft Excel and extensive use of our transport management system (for which full training will be given).
Are you/Do you have:
- Highly motivated
- Experienced in Microsoft Excel advanced spreadsheet functions
- Good computer skills
- Highly organised
- Able to prioritise work
- Excellent telephone manner
- Strong geographical knowledge
Main responsibilities of the role:
- Booking goods in
- Raising transport and delivery paperwork
- Use of Mandata system and Microsoft Excel
- General administration duties
- Customer and internal contact
