We are recruiting 2 newly created Production Shift Manager roles to work with a Global FTSE 250 Manufacturer based in Walsall. After a significant period of growth internationally and recent significant investment locally, the successful candidate will be responsible for increasing RFT & Scrap reduction rates as well as oversee the full Production of the business. In return candidates can expect full autonomy and a competitive package as well as opportunities throughout the group.

Client Details

Our Client is a market leading Global FTSE 250 Manufacturer based in the Walsall. After recent significant capital investment and a national restructure, this role would be getting ahead of the curve to oversee and sustain throughout and after the growth period of their Production team. The role will allow the successful Production Manager full autonomy to shape the team, a chance to lead strategic direction a chance to work with a globally recognisable brand.


Reporting directly into the Factory Manager and with responsibility for the Production area, the Production Manager will;

  • Plan and organise production schedules depending on customer requirements
  • Focus on developing a CI culture by driving RFT & Scrap reduction rates
  • Improve OEE and increase Production targets through KPI reporting
  • Estimating, negotiating and agreeing budgets and timescales with clients and managers
  • Ensuring that health and safety regulations are met, with regular audit with the QHSE Manager
  • Re-negotiating timescales or schedules as necessary
  • Supporting of purchasing by selecting, ordering and purchasing materials
  • Organising the repair and routine maintenance of production equipment
  • Liaising with buyers and marketing and sales staff
  • Liaise with other managers to formulate objectives and understand requirements


  • Engineering or Manufacturing background- ideally in heavy industry
  • Proven ability to lead and drive team performance
  • Six Sigma qualification or training
  • Ability to influence others and improve individual performances
  • Strong man manager
