UK Business Development Manager

Midlands & Central UK

Harris Lord have teamed up with a brilliant medical device company who, after great success bringing their product to the US last year, are looking to introduce their product to the UK Market. The right candidate will grow to have a team in the UK.

Reporting to the CEO, the UK BDM will develop and provide dashboards as well as regular reports to the executive leadership and the wider sales team through:

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • On the ground target evaluation, setting up appointments, driving product knowledge, use and opportunities.
  • Considerable regional travel.
  • Establishing and fostering strong relationships within NHS system in procurement, with key hospital contacts, surgeons, ICU’s, Theatre & all other relevant avenues.
  • Conducting contract negotiation.
  • Conducting formal educational training for all level of clients.
  • Assisting surgeons and theatre staff with the use and application of products, and provide technical expertise to registrars, nurses and other personnel as required.
  • Identifying Clinical trial opportunities, developing frameworks aligned to NHS requirements.
  • Demonstration and after-care of products to medical personnel.
  • Delivering excellent customer service to maintain high standards set by the organisation.
  • Feedback to senior management on new product and market development opportunities.

COMPETENCIES AND EXPERIENCE

  • Strong sales experience into hospitals, procurement systems, surgeons, nurses, theatres, within NHS framework.
  • Tenacity and the drive to develop a market from the ground up, and to be an integral member of a growing, dynamic global business.
  • 10+ years in Burns, Wound care, Plastic Surgery medical device sales
  • Operating theatre experience.
  • Most likely will have an extensive contact network of Plastic surgeons, Burns and reconstructive surgery, NHS personnel.
  • An ability to work flexibly, at times outside of normal working hours.
  • Capacity to work on many tasks at the same time, sometimes outside of core responsibilities.
  • Results focused commercially driven attitude with the ability to establish business relationships with medical personnel.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience within medical devices sales or clinical.
  • Experience gained within surgical devices is desirable.
  • Excellent verbal and communication skills.
  • Full UK driving licence – Up to 5 points considered.
