Our client is a well-established and respected manufacturer of fixtures, fittings and components both mechanical and electronic in the home and building infrastructure products sector. Highly acquisitive and experiencing excellent growth, the company is based in a brand-new office, distribution centre and test centre complex in the West Midlands close to the M6/M54 but has operational facilities and subsidiaries nationally and globally.

As a result of growth, they are now seeking to strengthen their head office Operations and Engineering team on a major project with the appointment of a Process Engineer, initially on an interim 3-4 month with the strong possibility of a permanent group role.

The Role:

·Manage the re-location, installation and commissioning of manufacturing process equipment.

·Identify and define and document process requirements for successful manufacture of a major product range.

·Plan and develop the appropriate manufacturing process equipment requirements and layout.

·Identify machine and manufacturing process improvements aimed at improving Health & Safety, Cycle Time and Quality.

·Define a process flow and equipment re-location plan

·Write process control documentation.

·Create a TPM system for site machines and equipment

·Provide operational training and support to manufacturing.

·Reduction in downtime through formulation and implementation of Preventative Maintenance actions.

·Ensure compliance with Safety, Health & Environmental policies and procedures throughout all engineering activities.

The Ideal Applicant:

·Science/Engineering/Design professional educated to HNC/HND or Degree level.

·Experience of Mechanical and Electrical/Electronic Engineering including Fabrication.

·At least 3 years’ experience in Process Engineering, position.

Ability to think intuitively, diagnose problems and underlying root causes of issues.Electrical and Fabrication skillsExperience of implementation / facilitation of preventative actions and investigations.Ability to understand Engineering drawings and analyse data.The ability to communicate concisely to technical and non-technical personnel in written and verbal form. ·Lean Six Sigma qualifications would be highly advantageous.

·Experience leading problem-solving processes and use of basic quality tools.

·Excellent team working & verbal and written communication skills.

·Customer facing experience essential – this could be external customers or internal customers within different product or manufacturing divisions of the same organisation.

·Experience of creating and presenting reports in Excel and PowerPoint.

·Previous experience of 8D problem solving, APQP or similar methodologies and knowledge of a risk-based approach to quality and process engineering techniques.

·Practical experience of quality improvement techniques including knowledge of ISO9001 will be prerequisites.

·You must be highly professional and confident, with the ability to facilitate, challenge, influence and inspire colleagues at all levels.

·Your style will be hands-on and you will lead by example through excellent presentation and communication skills whilst also being a true team player.

In return our client offers a very competitive salary on a pro rata basis for 3-4 months with the strong possibility of a permanent group role on successful delivery of this initial relocation project.
