A large, national Building Services Contractor, based in the Midlands with two locations. This forward thinking and dynamic M&E business, have shown growth year on year, especially within the West Midlands.

There is now an opening for a Planning Manager, based in the Midlands, going across the two locations, and around sites also. If you are looking to be out on field and not in one spot, this could be a role for you.

The primary function of the Planning Manager is to support Project teams in providing planning and monitoring services on projects in order to establish, record and demonstrate programme activities, durations, risks and remedies. Ensure that the programme content is functionally compliant with the planning procedures, identifying planning scope, major constraints and contract requirements. Establish and agree key methods of construction, sequencing, installation and commissioning.

The successful individual will engage with project teams, advise with regard to mitigating inefficiencies, whilst devising solutions for improvement taking account of contract operations in line with business goals and objectives. You will regularly attend meetings on projects to ensure accurate progress and see that project activities are monitored, ensuring the project team are maintaining progress in line with the latest programme.

There are a number of meetings that you will attend / be involved with importance on each project ;

Internal Tender Meetings with the Estimating Team
Client programme meetings during the Tender period
Internal Contract Control meetings and contributing to setting financial targets and objectives
Internal Contracts review meetings.

The ideal individual will be knowledgeable in the following ;

• An overall knowledge and understanding of a wide variety of HVAC, Electrical and Public Health and Sanitation systems
• Knowledge of all Microsoft packages
• Commercial awareness
• Knowledge of Asta PowerProject software
