Asset Management Surveyor – Education

£33,136 to £35,229 p.a.

Warwickshire County Council is an ambitious local authority that serves a growing population of over half a million people. We are clear about our priorities. Firstly, we want Warwickshire’s communities and individuals to be supported so they are safe, healthy and independent with priority focussed on the most vulnerable. Secondly, we want Warwickshire’s economy to be vibrant and supported by the right jobs, training, skills and infrastructure. We will seek to build our economy by attracting more investment, maximising business opportunities and encouraging job creation. To achieve these priorities we need to ensure our services are more efficient, integrated and that we make best possible use of our resources, new technologies and innovation.

The Council has an incredibly diverse property portfolio of 770 assets with approximately 1 million sq m and a total asset value of £737m. The Council’s Property Services Business Unit is responsible for the management, investment and operation of the Council’s land and property portfolio in order to ensure that the Council’s land and buildings are fully supporting our service needs.

We are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic individual to work within a small team of Asset Management Surveyors. The Asset Management Surveyor for Education will support the delivery of the assets for schools and associated assets to ensure the Council’s portfolio meets the requirement for school places.

You will provide corporate real estate services and advice to Warwickshire County Council to formulate and agree Education portfolio asset plans that meet the organisation’s objectives. On behalf of the Council you will act as commissioner and intelligent client to effectively and efficiently deliver asset plans and deliver a programme of professional property casework.

The successful candidate will possess proven experience in a general practice surveying role across an education property portfolio, preferably with experience of commissioning professional property services in an intelligent client role. We are seeking an individual with excellent interpersonal and communication skills and who is proactive, flexible and adaptable. It is expected that candidates will possess an appropriate degree-level qualification and be qualified as a Chartered Surveyor.
