Graduate Teaching Assistant – Humanities

This role will initially be supporting small group interventions within the Humanities Department, with some of the students require additional support to grasp certain concepts within the subject, whilst others need an extra push to help them achieve their high potential.

You will be allocated a dedicated mentor at the school who will guide you through the year giving you an exceptional insight in to how to become a superb teacher in the future. You will have access to all staff training and your own tailored CPD meetings, to ensure that you are getting the most out of the experience.

Once you become more confident you will take on more responsibility with covering lessons and lesson planning, with the possibility to eventually move onto teacher training in the very same school.


To be shortlisted for this role, you will be a Humanities graduate with a minimum of a 2:1 and strong A Levels to further enhance your application.

You will need to be a confident communicator both written and verbally. In this role, resilience is key as no two days will be the same and the demands of an educational environment change frequently. This school look for graduates who have an outgoing personality and are able to build strong relationships quickly. All staff in this school are dedicated to the development of their students and themselves, but welcome new member who have a sense of humour and are able to hit the ground running and work flexibly to meet the ever-changing demands of a school environment.
