As Director of Innovative Retailing - Automotive you will be leading the trading element of our Summit Automotive proposition. Responsible for winning new clients and onboarding them onto our Automotive platform, you will strategically support them in our mission – to make it more likely that people will buy from our clients than anyone else. This will be measured through successful client adoption and uptake of our technology and services. As a key stakeholder responsible for all client engagements, we will rely on you for your industry understanding, as their representative in our future development and to identify other related business opportunities.

As part of the Automotive senior management team, the role reports directly to the Managing Director of the Summit Automotive business unit.

Key Responsibilities

Client Services: ensuring all chargeable services for clients (e.g. technology implementations, analytics, support, operational and trading services etc.) are successful in their delivery to achieve the client outcome to sell more cars, online. This includes manging all associated service frameworks and processes and where required, personally leading clients/project engagements.Build and lead key communictiesAutomotive Subject Matter ExpertsTrading TeamsOnline Retailing Proposition Development: as a key stakeholder representing Automotive market clients, providing input to the Summit Automotive Proposition & Product Team on the future technology portfolio product and services needs that we must take to market in order to maintain our market relevance.Automotive Online Retail Market Subject Matter Expertise: be an authority in Automotive Online Retail, and ensuring that the teams within your remit maintain thought leadership on the most current approaches in order to offer genuine insights to clients in the services that they deliver.New Sales Pipeline Generation: through building partner relationships with clients, you will perform net new pipeline cultivation, and the accurate forecasting of new opportunity conversation into successful sales closure.Revenue Recognition: accurate revenue recognition forecasting from the technology and services sold and delivered by the team.
Human Capital: recruit, grow and manage teams to deliver all Automotive Online Retailing services aligned with our business strategy. This will include national and international resources and partners as required.Client Satisfaction: drive a programme of measuring and monitoring client satisfaction with the services delivered, ensuring that there is a continuous feedback loop for improvement in the experience we provide.
Candidate Skills & Experience
• 10 years leadership within an Automotive industry vertical; in OEM, distributor,dealer or related agency environments.
• Confident and self-assured, ideally 3+ years of innovative retailing leadership, success & experience.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, demanding environment - bringing a high level of strategy and governance
• Supporting in a start-up environment the company mission and team development
• Analytical, logical and lateral thinking professional.
• Exceptional leadership, management, hiring and training skills with the demonstrated ability to manage large teams.
• Experienced internal and external facing communication skills for all levels of stakeholder including senior level management.
• Working knowledge of Waterfall and Agile delivery methods
• Experience of working with internal product and development teams, third parties and offshore team management.
