An Industrial Design house based in the historic city of Hereford surrounded by some of the country's most picturesque countryside is looking to recruit a Product Designer with exceptional styling and presentation skills and a flair for creativity and problem solving.
Their client's range from private entrepreneurs to large corporations, which offers the opportunity to work on a wide variety of products.

The successful candidate will have a minimum of 3 years' experience and be responsible for the conceptual stage, styling & presentation, CAD and prototyping, using our in-house 3D printing capabilities and external network of suppliers based in the UK and overseas. The role will include branding, promotional videos and other marketing materials to support the core activity of product design.

Key Responsibilities

Reporting to the Principal Engineer
•Researching the product area as required.
•Working to client briefs, developing concept solutions and assisting where possible in achieving production-ready designs.
•Creating Concept Designs in sketch form / Sketchbook Pro and presenting ideas to a high standard using the in-house style
•Develop concepts with an awareness of manufacturing potential but expressing a flair in styling
•Present approved concept designs using Keyshot and the Adobe suite of software.
•Working as part of a team and appreciating the requirements others are aiming to achieve.
•Assist in the CAD modelling of approved concepts
•Assist in the production of prototypes using in-house Ultimaker and Form 2, 3D printers.
•Preparation of 2D literature for in-house, web and promotional purposes as well as may be required for client projects.

Key Skills & Requirements

•Proficient in SolidWorks, Adobe suite, Keyshot. AutoCAD 2D, Rhino or other Surfacing software will be an advantage.
•An enthusiasm for developing products beyond the concept stage. Hands-on approach to trying out ideas using low-tech materials and techniques and finding simple, quick methods of testing ideas.
•An appreciation of common manufacturing process will be helpful but an inquisitive enthusiasm for finding out and learning about manufacturing methods is expected.
•Clear and appropriate communication skills
•Problem-solving and innovative thinking
•High level of attention to detail
•Methodical approach to your work.
•Commercial awareness - our work is cost and time sensitive.
•Skilled in PC usage and associated software including Microsoft Office.
•Able to work with minimal supervision, efficiently schedule and manage time.
•Capable of working to and achieving targets.

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: GBP25,000.00 to GBP28,000.00 /year
