Release Automation Engineer

Our client a global technology company and industry leader are looking to hire a contract Release Automation Engineer for an initial 6 month period.

You will be joining a team responsible for the automation of the clients software deployment processes taking responsibility for the ongoing development of relevant automation with the release lifecycle.

Responsibilities -

  • Supporting and maintaining the technology stack used in the release automation platforms.
  • Reviewing existing processes and designing automation incorporating business process improvements, re- engineering and delivering greater efficiency. Developing, troubleshooting and supporting orchestration workflows / layers. Working with project teams to turn infrastructure designs into automated solutions using the most appropriate automation platform / toolset. Conforming to best practices to ensure automated software components are designed and implemented to a high standard. Participation in on call services as a technical escalation for automation/platform issues. Applying active governance around overall design, quality and technical standards. Being an active communicator on technical issues and solutions both within the team and outside, as well as to external parties where required.

REQUIRED SKILLS

Commercial experience working in an automation position.

? Version Control Software, Accurev, Git, Mercurial, TFS, SVN etc

? Multiple scripting languages - Python, Ruby, Powershell.

? Good working knowledge of TSQL.

? Good working knowledge of Windows and Linux operating systems.

? Good working knowledge of Jenkins and pipelines.

DESIRABLE SKILLS

Exposure to or certification in ITIL processes.

? .Net C#

? Experience of GIT.

? Experience of Jira
