Fee Earner - Non Volume Disease

SUMMARY OF THE ROLE

To handle own litigated caseload of predominately NIHL claims, in a supported team environment. To manage and progress claims in accordance with appropriate strategies to secure desired outcomes for clients at appropriate levels of profitability.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Reviewing documents and preparing reports

  • Dealing with disclosure

  • Reviewing evidence (including medical / personnel records)

  • Conducting investigations with Insured / obtaining witness statements

  • Instructing Counsel / Experts

  • Research

  • Drafting generally

  • Attending conferences and Trials with Counsel

  • Dealing with routine correspondence

  • Court appointments

  • To ensure compliance with the SRA Code of Conduct 2015

  • The individual may also be required to undertake the following:

  • Initial report/review

  • Periodic review

  • Update reports

RECRUITMENT CRITERIA

  • Some experience of dealing with or assisting on NIHL cases

  • Experience in litigation but pre-litigation experience only will also be considered

  • Have a proven ability to manage a high volume of work

  • Good organisation and time management skills

  • Be a self-starter and proactive individual

  • Have the ability to remain motivated and manage own workload

  • Ability to work within the Keoghs shared behaviour framework

  • Previous experience / exposure of working on a case management system would be highly advantageous

  • Claimant as well as defendant experience will be considered
