The job of a Bodyshop Technician
We are looking for Panel, Paint and MET technicians. As part of a team of bodyshop specialists you will undertake the repair of damaged vehicles to an extremely high standard, adhering to manufacturers literature as appropriate. The Technicians job also includes ensuring that equipment used is operated in accordance with defined safety requirements
You will report into the Regional Manager to understand when you need to be and when then when on site you will report to the General Manager. The Regional Manager, Mark Neat, has been at Nationwide for a number of years, working his way up the progression chain. This means he really knows what it's like to be on the shop floor. He is as passionate about Customers as he is about his Team and is absolutely determined to make his region the best in group. It's an amazing team!
What you will be doing
Our Bodyshop is fast paced and exciting with lots of opportunity to make an incredible difference and apply your expertise and skill. In the job of Technician you will be repairing many different marques of vehicle. This means performing repairs to an extremely high standard. It is also important for you as a Technician for you to fully understand different manufacturers literature and bulletins so you are fully up-to-date.
Another very important aspect of the job is teamwork as you will be working with other colleagues in lots of bodyshops as well as across other functional areas.
What we think good looks like
As a Roaming Technician you need to be prepared to travel to a variety of bodyshops in the South Midlands to help them achieve work quotas. We would like you to have an interest and passion in what we do. With professionalism appearance we would also appreciate it if you had your own stocked tools, excellent job knowledge and be highly motivated. Naturally, due to the nature of the job you will need to have a full UK/EU Driving Licence and the relevant qualifications for the job (ATA, NVQ Level 3, or City and Guilds as well as experience in the accident repair environment). We will help and support you with the rest
