Heritage Care has a fantastic opportunity for a Care and Support Worker to join the team in Redditch . Joining us on a full / part time time basis including nights and bank hours, you will receive a competitive salary of GBP7.93 per hour.

As a Care and Support Worker you will provide physical, social and emotional support to tenants within an Extra Care Scheme. You will enable tenants to maintain their independence wherever and for as long as possible and ensure that the highest standards of care are maintained in with Heritage Care's policies and procedures and CQC Fundamental Standards of Quality and Safety.

Responsibilities as our Care and Support Worker will include:

- Support and provide personal care to elderly male and female tenants in daily living tasks to maintain their independence

- Have responsibilities in accordance with the practises and procedures of Heritage Care for the personal needs of both male and female tenants

- Act as a named worker within the scheme to specific tenants

- Attend team meetings on a regular basis to feedback information of the progress of individual tenants, their changing needs and circumstances

- Be responsible for maintaining general record keeping

- Follow policies and procedures relating to Health & Safety at work

- Be available on a flexible roster system as and when required to cover the scheme seven days a week

- Undertake all statutory training and all other training as identified in supervision, Personal Development Plans or as instructed by the Line Manager

- Act in a professional manner at all times ensuring a positive portrayal of the postholder and Heritage Care to residents and other individuals

As our Care and Support Worker you will have the following skills and experience:


- Willing to complete the Care Certificate

- Ability to work independently and as part of a team

- Demonstrate an understanding of the needs of older people living within the Extra Care and how to support them

- Good literacy, numerical and verbal skills

- Able to keep accurate records

- Basic computer keyboard skills and the ability to use computers

- Demonstrate an understanding of how discrimination may be experienced by minority groups due to disability, sex, age, ethnic origin or sexual orientation


- Diploma in Health &Social Care or related qualification

- Experience of caring for people

- Basic software packages to record and access information, including use of care management systems
