About us

Crisis is the national charity for homeless people. We know that homelessness is not inevitable and together we can end it.

Crisis used our 50th anniversary during 2017 to develop a comprehensive plan to end homelessness. With the publication of “Everybody In: how to end homelessness in Great Britain” we set out the evidence of what works and our recommendations for the key changes required in policy and practice to end rough sleeping and homelessness across Great Britain for good. Crisis will be playing a key role in encouraging national governments to develop their own plans to end homelessness, and to support local authorities and wider partners to implement the recommendations in their areas.

About the role
This is an exciting time to join us in the role of Director for Crisis Skylight Coventry.

Our local services have grown and we are now recruiting a dedicated Skylight Director to consolidate this growth and support local services to develop and become more aligned with the emerging evidence base of what works to end homelessness.

About you
We are looking for someone with an understanding of services for people who are homeless and have complex needs, and who is driven by achieving positive outcomes for some of the most excluded individuals in our society.

The ideal candidate is someone that can not only get into the details, but who can also empower and develop their managers and direct reports with the running day to day services. This is vital to ensure the post holder can focus on positive external liaison – working collaboratively with partners in Coventry to end homelessness and contributing insights and evidence to our national policy and influencing work.

The Director of Crisis Skylight Coventry role offers a real opportunity to influence and contribute to ending homelessness for more of the people we work with directly, as well as helping to end homelessness in Great Britain for good.

If you’re as excited by the opportunity as we are – and relish the challenge of delivering excellent and effective services as well as looking outwards, then we want to hear from you.

As a member of the team you will have access to a wide range of employee benefits including:

Interest free loans to purchase a train season ticket or a bike or for a deposit to secure a tenancy
Mandatory pension scheme, with an employer contribution of 8.5%
25 days’ annual leave which increases with service to 28 days
Alongside our excellent staff benefits, we will support your ongoing development to build your skills, experience and career.
