QUALITY ASSURANCE TECHNICIAN
FOOD MANUFACTURING INDUSTRY
£28,000 + Contributory Pension (Matched up to 7%) + Healthcare (BUPA) + Life Assurance (4x Annual Salary) + Dental Care + 33 Days Holiday
Hours: 42 hours per week. 12 hour shifts (2 days, 2 nights, 4 off).
Due to significant expansion and growth into the UK Market, a Market leading food manufacturing company is seeking to grow its QA team with the addition of a QA Technologist, reporting directly into the Technical Controller.
Manufacturing various food products from their site in Telford , they supply into a range of supermarkets including M&S, Tesco, Aldi & Lidl.

*Supporting and focussing on Technical priorities identified in the annual site Quality Plan
*Taste panel lead for the factory - preparing daily management quality panels; ensuring the production taste panels are completed and that all panellists are screened and trained to panel effectively
*Management and organisation of retained product samples
*Co-ordinating complaint investigations, documenting and responding in conjunction with relevant departments (FGM, Technical Controller, Production, Engineering)
*Daily audit of factory process paperwork to ensure full completion and KPI reporting of compliance to the management team - ensuring key controls are adhered to such as x-ray, check-weighing and auto-coding and traceability procedures
*Training factory colleagues to conduct factory quality checks and completion of documentation
*Monitoring and reporting on compliance to the site cleaning system (i.e. record completion, gluten free management etc.)
*Active member of the site HACCP Team
*Member of the internal audit team, conducting audits as per site schedule
*Management and development of internal and customer finished product specifications (including M&S FIND system management)
*Supporting product launches to ensure 'right first time' launches focussing on brand and customer expectations; ensuring the production team are aware of requirements
* Conducting shelf life testing
*Ensuring FOSS test equipment is calibrated and performance verified against site schedule
*Support the development, administration and document control of the site Quality Management System
*Key player in site BRC audits and customer audits/visits
*Attending customer quality panels
*Works alongside and covers for fellow QA Technologist whose primary focus is on managing raw materials intake procedures
Skills and Qualifications
*Experience working in a similar role
*Knowledge of Quality Systems and Codes of Practice compliance
*Experience in Good Manufacturing Practice, HACCP and Quality
*Ability to solve problems, identify better ways of manufacturing
*FMCG Industry Background
