The Jarell Group have an exciting opportunity to join a rapidly growing company within their brand new production facility based in Birmingham. They are seeking a Senior Buyer who must have strong SAP experience and ideally knowledge of casting.

About the Role:
- The Senior Buyer will manage the purchasing function to ensure delivery of the business plan and department KPIs
- Ensure supply contracts are negotiated in line with agreed sourcing and business strategies
- Ensure supplier contractual arrangements are appropriate in managing all potential risks to the business.
- Ensure appropriate tendering activities are undertaken, providing all necessary information for management approval.
- Ensure costs are controlled within the bill of material & investment targets.
- Management of the supplier relationships to ensure adherence to quality cost and delivery targets

Relevant Experience needed:

* The Buyer should be at least educated to GCSE level or equivalent.

* A minimum of 5 years demonstrable experience in automotive or engineering production purchasing environments.

* Experienced in prototype component purchasing and material management.

* Experienced user in all aspects of the APQP delivery process.

* Experienced user of SAP business management systems.

* Knowledge of manufacturing technologies, process and applications used within automotive powertrain products.

* Understanding of the different manufacturing techniques used in transmission production or other powertrain related products.

* Ability to read engineering drawings.

* Experience in global sourcing.

Salary/Benefits:

Salary for this role will be £45,000 - £50,000. The role will be based in Birmingham with a 40 hour working week Monday - Friday.
