Are you a talented procurement junior or driven assistant buyer ready to take a step up? I'm working with a leading national business who are looking for a Buyer on a permanent basis. The role is paying up to £28,000 per annum + 18% bonus (which pays out) + 20% pension and excellent holiday allowance. The role is based in Warwickshire.

Develop and assist in tender strategies, processes, and oversee and monitor the management of suppliers, providing advice and challenge to ensure efficient, effective procurement that delivers best commercial terms, optimises efficiencies, mitigates risk and meets business requirements.

Accountabilities

1 Review and analyse supplier market and spend data, business requirements and strategy, in collaboration with business stakeholders, to identify opportunities to generate cost savings, enhance value, quality and customer experience, optimise efficiencies, reduce supplier risk and meet ongoing compliance and regulatory requirements and business goals.

2 Develop tender strategies that incorporate a thorough interpretation, assessment and analysis of business requirements and are in line with category strategy, to ensure an efficient and effective approach to meet the timescales and requirements of business.

3 Lead, plan, manage and facilitate tender process and negotiations in accordance with policies and procedures to deliver best commercial terms, mitigate commercial risk and contractual exposure and meet business requirements.

4 Oversee and monitor the management of suppliers to ensure objective commercial escalation and promote effective, fair and professional supplier management.

5 Define, implement and monitor category procurement models, rules, tools and channels to ensure the effective control of risk, acquisition costs, contract compliance and data quality.

6 Develop, promote and provide guidance and advice to the business on policies, procedures processes and practice to designed to deliver a professional, consistent and commercial approach that effectively controls risk and enhance the reputation of the business

7 Lead, manage, motivate and develop direct reports so that they know what is expected, are able to maximise their contribution to business objectives and realise their potential (as applicable).

8 Build and maintain effective relationships with business area, suppliers, Group Legal, Group Compliance, Group Risk, IT and industry and professional bodies to ensure the effective delivery of objectives and representation of the department.

9 Deliver short term / one-off projects and activities as required by and to the standards and outcomes agreed with Line Manager.
