As Production Technician you would be expected to be a proactive member of the Operations Team. Your core focus would be on supporting the production and engineering departments by maintaining manufacturing machines and equipment by controlling and monitoring processes using visual observation, process data and testing.

You would also be responsible for identifying and debugging problems in processes and equipment, implementing solutions to maintain and increase the plants productivity as well as supporting the implementation of new or improved equipment and processes including preparing costing analysis and production equipment validation.

This is a permanent role offering £25,000 - £30,000 along with company benefits including a pension, life cover and 24 days holidays plus Bank Holidays.

Production Technician Key Responsibilities:

* Work closely with production, maintenance and engineering on improving equipment availability.

* Maintain key production equipment to enable the plant meet its BO and output targets

* Prepare and run documented trials / validations in accordance with internal business procedures.

* Identify activities required to improve manufacturing processes

* Prepare project plans to determine improvement activities and determine the savings gained

* Organise and coordinate the activities identified.

* Create specification of equipment and service requirements

* Carry out specific projects as directed by the plant manager

* Support the introduction of new products into production

Additional Tasks:

* Writing of validation protocols, validation reports and execution of validations under the guidance of the engineering team or plant manager

* Preparing specifications, protocols, reports and standard operating procedures

* Support equipment installation, commissioning and validation

* Support investigatory testing as required

* Generate engineering change orders (ECO’s) and progress through to implementation.

* Raise purchase requisition as required

* Projects and tasks specified by the plant manager

We are looking for someone with the following skills / attributes:

* Knowledge of requirements of working in the medical device industry (FDA, ISO 13485, ISO14001) preferable but not essential

* Working knowledge and application of Lean tools and techniques.

* Technical knowledge and hands on machinery experience

* Good problem analysis ability. A positive and lateral thinker

* Ability to work in a project team or as an individual

* Ability to carry out project related activities with little or no direct supervision.

* Creating sense of urgency/bias for action.

* Flexible working hours

* Able to work in a clean room

* Knowledge of Statistics
