Procurement Officer

We have been retained by our client to assist them in the recruitment of a senior Procurement Officer to carry out strategic procurement activities and supplier relationship development in conjunction with their group property sourcing requirements, whilst also supporting procurement process development in order to ensure best practice and efficient delivery.

This is an opportunity for a procurement professional with experience of end to end purchasing processes within the facilities management sector to join a newly developed function at within our clients organisation. The position will require a driven individual with strong organisational and analytical skills who is capable of driving purchasing activity in a regulatory environment, whilst working collaboratively to support the new function in delivery of business objectives.

Working in an evolving environment will require the successful applicant to demonstrate a capacity for continuous process improvement and a desire to develop professional skills.

Duties and responsibilities

- Duties and responsibilities will include, but are not limited to;
- Proactively and regularly review procurement needs with internal customers to develop sourcing plans
- Identify and carry out required strategic procurement activities in accordance with the procurement lifecycle
- Influence key stakeholder decisions and ensure delivery of value for money, sustainable supply solutions through effective business case development
- Support the Supply Chain Manager with development of best practice procurement processes
- Ensure terms and conditions are agreed and remain relevant during the contract lifecycle
- Support contract owners in ensuring suppliers deliver to agreed service level agreements and develop improvement plans where required
- Ensure due diligence processes are applied during the procurement process, i.e. pre-qualification checks
- Ensure suppliers comply with regulatory requirements including the Health and Safety Act, Modern Slavery Act, GDPR, Insurance, Financial, etc
- Monitoring and mitigation plan development for Group Property suppliers who are identified as critical to a business recovery

- Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritise multiple tasks and work to tight deadlines
- Excellent analytical skills and able to work with, and present recommendations through data
- A good level of self-motivation and able to motivate team and be a good team player
- Committed to on-going development of the skills required for high quality performance in role

Qualifications and experience

- Knowledge of supply chain practices and procedures
- 3+ years Supply Chain experience and relevant CIPS qualifications (or being obtained)
- Capable of working in Excel and PowerPoint
- Experience in procurement for facilities management is desirable
