The management accounts team supporting Herefordshire Council's Children and Families directorate is looking for an enthusiastic and motivated person to join the team.

You will be supporting the safeguarding and family support teams, which include Looked After Children and fostering. The role will include maintaining budget information on Looked after Children, understanding trends to help with budget setting, meeting budget managers to review, challenge and amend monthly forecasts, establishment monitoring and answering ad hoc queries and requests for information. As a team we are passionate about process improvement and are constantly looking for better ways of doing things and you will contribute to this process.

You will preferably have an AAT qualification or equivalent, but we are happy to consider your application if you are part qualified with relevant experience. A team player, you will be flexible and manage your workload to provide the best support to the Children and Families directorate. You will be customer focussed and able to build effective working relationships with a range of staff. You will also need to be able to confidently explain financial information and processes to a range of staff with differing levels of financial experience.
