Contract Opportunity for Self Employed Person or Organisation (Support can be provided to the right candidate to become self-employed, including advice on how this may affect any benefits you currently receive) Salary £15,785 per annum (for 20 hours per week) Bushbury Hill Community Action Group (BHCAG) is a resident led voluntary and community organisation that established in 2013, and in 2016 became a Charitable Incorporated Organisation. Its aim is to improve the quality of life of all residents of Bushbury Hill and the surrounding areas. BHCAG has an exciting opportunity for a part time Befriending Coordinator to support the development and expansion of the Bushbury Buddies project. Bushbury Buddies is currently a befriending service for older people in the Bushbury Hill area. With the support and investment from the Community Fund we are now aiming to roll out this service to cover the Scotlands, Bushbury Hill and Low Hill areas of Wolverhampton, as well as provide support to lonely and isolated people of all ages (project currently funded until March 2021). As the befriending coordinator you will be responsible for the initial roll out of Bushbury Buddies service to all age groups across the area, working with local service providers to receive referrals and promoting the project at a local level. You will be required to work with befriending officer to recruit volunteers to the befriending service and to initially carry out befriending visits of those who are approximately below the age of 50 to match clients with suitable befriending volunteers where possible. You will facilitate volunteer befriender introductions and where necessary signpost clients to other support services.
