Cygnet Meadows Mews is a Neuropsychiatric step-down service for up to 10 men who have a traumatic, acquired or degenerative brain injury. Examples include: encephalitis, hypoxic brain injury, dementia and Huntington’s disease. Patients will also be likely to have related complex difficulties including; associated mental health problems, challenging behaviour, substance abuse difficulties and forensic histories. Meadows Mews is a step-down facility for patients transitioning from a locked rehabilitation setting to community living

Job Role

This is a part-time role of 20 hours a week. The successful candidate will ideally have experience in a brain injury service and experience of working as an assistant psychologist role would be beneficial. The candidate would support the qualified clinical psychologist in providing a psychological service which may include: collecting data and research tasks, completing assessments, delivering interventions and developing formulation skills. There will also be the opportunity to deliver training and teaching, develop transferable and professional skills and be involved in evaluating the service.

You will need the ability to work independently and as part of an interdisciplinary team. Experience of working within in-patient services would be an advantage. Full induction training is given. You will also have weekly supervision with the qualified clinical psychologist.

Successful candidates will have to meet the person specification in order to be offered this post, which will be assessed through application and interview. All candidates will be subject to an enhanced DBS check and reference checks.
