Private Client Solicitor - In House Role - Tax & Trusts Matters QED Legal is working with a a specialist Trust & Estate Planning Corporation that is eager to appoint an experienced Private Client Solicitor or Legal Executive to handle a high calibre caseload of private client matters and be based at the company's office in Lichfield. The company is very well established and has a national reach. It works very closely with a national law firm and the organisation is regarded as the "go to" operation for many solicitors who need the assistance of experts within the trustee specialism. The company is proud to boast circa. 100,000 existing clients and it currently manages in excess of 5000 trusts and as well as in excess of half a billion pounds worth of assets. In order to meet current client needs, and also in anticipation of the company acquiring further businesses, the organisation now wishes to recruit an experienced Private Client Solicitor or Legal Executive to provide advice on complex tax and trusts matters. You will need to have a minim of 3 years' experience of handling private practice matters and, if you are not currently STEP qualified, you will either be working towards this or have a desire to commence the course. Working in an in-house capacity at the company's offices, you will handle complex tax and trusts and that will include advising on tax returns for trusts, handling IHT tax returns and advise on the administration of estates. In addition, you will manage the day to day running of trusts and also advise on tax and estate planning whilst working in conjunction with the wider Private Client Team. As a senior member of the team you will be expected to be a technical referral point to more junior members and in due course there is scope for you to progress within the company's structure, particularly as the team grows in accordance with the organisation's long-term strategy.
