Our client is looking for a Test Rig Design Engineer to work in their team based near Stratford-Upon-Avon.
As a Test Rig Design Engineer, you will be a technical expert on testing for all parts of the productdevelopment lifecycle. You will provide key input to the design to ensure testability of the product, subsystems and components as well as drafting and executing test designs and test protocols against agreed technical requirements.
You will also work with Engineering, Risk and other colleagues in developing the traceability matrices between product requirements, design and test items.
Key Responsibilities of the Test Rig Design Engineer
* Design, develop and evaluate manual and automated test fixtures for verification, reliability, service and manufacturing test.
* Construct test cases, specifications and protocols for integration, verification, reliability, service and end-of-line manufacturing.
* Participate in design review activities to ensure requirements and designs are testable.
* Work within the company's Quality Management System.
Test Execution and Reporting
* Participate in testing activities including the generation of test execution reports.
* Oversee and report tests in line with project and test schedules.
* Maintain test and their traces to requirement standards.
Process Improvement
* Work with system requirements, architecture and design, suggesting improvements to testability, where appropriate.
* Provide recommendations regarding the improvement of testing practices within the company.
* Degree or HND qualified or otherwise experienced within an appropriate engineering discipline.
* Experience in working with PEMS (Programmable Electrical Medical Systems) or equivalent high-integrity embedded systems i.e. complex devices requiring multidisciplinary development effort (mechanical engineering, software, electronics, system integration, pneumatics, fluid mechanics etc.).
* Experience of working with requirements management systems, document management systems, issue management systems.
* Experience of practice on instrument calibration and traceability to national standards.
* Experience of use of manual laboratory instruments (thermometers, multi-meters, oscilloscopes, pressure gauges, flowmeters).
* Experience of test rig design, build and qualification.
* Experience of using automated test tools.
* Familiar with documentation and system lifecycle process requirements for working under standards such as ISO 13485, ISO 14971 and IEC 60601.
