PLC Engineer job near Rugby. Shifts: 4 on, 4 off, days and nights.

Your new role

You will install and service a variety of process control systems and monitor the operation of PLC equipment. You will work specifically on Siemens S7 and some Allen Bradley. You'll install and terminate electrical, pneumatic and fluid connections. Along with the calibration, repair, adjustment and replacement of components, you'll inspect and test the operation of instruments and systems to diagnose faults and verify repairs. You'll establish and optimize process control strategies, and configure related systems such as Distributed Control Systems. You will need to maintain backups, documentation and software revisions as part of maintaining these computer-based control systems. Scheduled maintenance and the commissioning of systems are also important aspects of your job.

What you'll need to succeed

You hold a time served apprenticeship or equivalent as well as recognised electrical and mechanical qualifications. You will have worked for a minimum of 3 years on PLCs, ideally Siemens and Allen Bradley. Your competent electrical/electronic fault finding and analysis skills will be imperative for you in this job as will your hydraulic and pneumatic experience. You are a self-managing individual who must be able to work under your own supervision, prioritising your workload and making decisions. You are also a team player who can share ideas and knowledge with others.
