What will I be doing?

Key areas of responsibility include:

• Safety, Health, Environment and Quality (SHEQ)

• Demonstrating safety excellence by ensuring KPI and KPM measurements are No.1 in the STW region

• Reviewing supply chain performance against our client's KPIs and KPMs

• Implementing and refreshing initiatives to improve behaviours relating to SHEQ

• General Management

• To ensure other commissioning engineers within the project group are technically supported, are undertaking their roles in accordance with the client's best practice and to advise the project management teams of any commissioning resource issues

• To liaise with design and suppliers / sub-contractors to ensure that equipment is fully set up and commissioned at each project

• Ensure technical input and expertise is best utilised

• Ensures equipment is FAT tested and snag free prior to arrival on site

• Timely production of regular reports to senior managers.

• Responsible for input into the overall programme.

• Ensure capture of installation, testing and commissioning data

• Responsible for quality and snag free installation and commissioning

• Client Facing

• Input into Early Contractor Involvement process through site surveys of systems and equipment

• Building and maintaining relationships within the Client organisation, particularly Service Delivery

• Inputting to reports and other briefings to client management

• Liaison with the STW representatives from Asset Creation (AC) and Service Delivery (SD) on an ongoing basis

• Liaison with the STW SAP for the project

• Active participation in the client’s Site COMM Cells

• Carrying out training of the client's operational staff

• Technical

• Knowledge and experience of the engineering discipline appropriate with the project scope

• Full project cycle commissioning input (from outline design to final commissioning and handover)

• Able to write commissioning plans

• Able to write commissioning procedures

• Able to carry out hands on commissioning activities

• Electrical conversant to 18th or any subsequent edition of the Electrical Regulations

• Demonstrated ability to understand the water and waste water treatment processes as a whole and commission in a structured manner

• FAT testing and management of close out of defects found

• Demonstrated ability to carry out trouble shooting

• Management of Process / M&E through design refinement and scope change

• Review electrical and/or mechanical schematics, wiring diagrams, FDS documents, P&I documents and instigate required design change as and when necessary

• Co-ordination of project commissioning activities and close liaison with any 3rd party Commissioning Engineer ensuring successful commissioning.

• Manage Process / M&E Design and Scope Changes

• Manage Process / M&E Programme and provide monthly updates to project planners

• Ensure the technical solution delivery is consistent across the project life cycle from early involvement to completion

• Ensure best practice, technical bulletins and lessons learned are utilised

Main Function of Role

• Key Duties

Oversee and assist in the delivery of MEICA solutions and systems integration.

• Configuration of analytical equipment to process requirements, i.e. calibration, interfacing with monitoring equipment etc.

• Support the client’s Core Management Team and report status of our Technology Providers.

• Carry out regular Progress meetings with the Technology Providers

• Manage and update the Design Deliverables Schedule and update the Project Programme via the Project Planners

• Production and assessment of RAMS

• Manage and Update the / M&E Project Progress Reports

• Audit subcontractor performance

• Supervision and inspection of sub-contractor installations

• Management of project installation and production of all relevant documentation to successfully close out project

• Co-ordinate and produce commissioning plans for approval, ensuring that all relative documentation is completed

• Undertake an electrical AP role subject to prior agreement and training

About you

• Candidates must have experience with a main contractor working on Water and Waste Water Process Engineering projects.

• HND / Degree qualified in a relevant Engineering discipline

• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work within a team environment, although must be able to self-manage,

• Demonstrate ability to challenge and deliver value engineering solutions

• CSCS or ECS card required

• Water Hygiene card required
