Description As an IT Apprentice at HS2, you will work in either an IT Service Delivery capacity or support the IT Operations team.

The IT Service Delivery role supports with complex or technical customer requests and queries. You will gather and analyse data and customer information that influences change and improvements in service.

The IT Operations team focus on hazards, risks, controls, measures, and mitigations to protect organisations systems and people. You will work to achieve the required security outcomes in a legal and regulatory context in all parts of the economy. You will develop and apply practical knowledge of information security to deliver solutions that fulfil the organisation's requirements.
About the role: The Apprenticeship Programme will span over a period of two years, which will involve working at HS2 and studying at College.

Over the two years you will cover various topics, including:
  • Threats, hazards, risks and intelligence;
  • Developing and using a security case;
  • Customer service culture and environment;
  • Customer journey.

Qualifications About You: To join us on an Apprenticeship Programme, you'll need to have achieved or expect to achieve 5 GCSEs at grades A* - C (9 - 4), including English and Maths, or equivalent qualifications.

You will have a keen interest in the HS2 project and you will find the idea of working on HS2 appealing. In turn, you will also be able to demonstrate:
  • The ability to organise your workload and meet agreed deadlines;
  • The ability to communicate with stakeholders at various levels within an organization;
  • The ability to build good working relationships with your colleagues and contacts across the organisation and outside with external partners;
  • The ability to understand customer requirements and provide relevant support;
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
The Apprentice will be expected to demonstrate, at all times, behaviour aligned to HS2's values of Integrity, Respect, Leadership and Safety.

It is expected that you will actively promote and embed Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) in all your work and support and comply with all organisational initiatives, policie s and procedures on EDI.
