The Role:

As IT Manager you will be responsible for Tata Technologies European HQ's entire IT infrastructure. Your department will provide end-user IT support services by ensuring that system and network conditions are monitored and that any service-affecting issues are promptly addressed. Ensuring all necessary services are available and that workloads are run in line with required service levels, delegating tasks to members of the team.

Area of Responsibility

Ensures customer calls are dealt with effectively by the team. Manages the problem resolution process for significant systems problems, involving communicating with technical and senior business colleagues.

Business and IT alignment:

  • Handle CxO engagements related to Global IT and proactively address their business requirements.
  • Identify IT performance issues, hot spots and take corrective actions collaborating with other IT teams.
  • Conduct meetings with delivery managers and key stakeholders at all locations.
  • Provide leadership to manage hackathons, All Hands, Town Halls, Quarterly Briefings, Broadcasts and other company events.

IT Operations:

  • Responsible for managing IT Infrastructure, Operations and Security Standards as defined by Tata Technologies. Some of the key responsibilities include:
  • Manage data centres infrastructure (Dell, IBM, HP, Nutanix) and its operations (cabling, space, cooling, and power)
  • Understand technical and operational areas such as network (WAN, LAN, DMZ, VPN)
  • Should be well versed with security (next generation firewalls, AV, DLP, Encryption)
  • Should have experience in storage & data transfer (SAN, NAS, FTP, Cloud)
  • Manage day-to-day IT Operations Projects with technologies, such as Apache, Tomcat, Linux, Hyper-V, Patch Management, Virtualization and Security tools deployments etc.

People Management:

  • Responsible for the performance of IT team reporting.
  • Mentor the team, provide guidance and direction to the team and understand their challenges and help them to overcome the obstacles and perform better.

Other Duties Include:

  • In cooperation with Global IT Team, local operations staff and key users, provides strategic, budgeting and disaster recovery/business
  • Continuity planning of offices and staff in multiple operating, business and functional units.
  • Perform appropriate duties associated with Global IT project-based activities. Participate in the identification, development and communication of new technology standards and best practices as appropriate.
  • Responsible for tracking local hardware inventory and software license allocations working collaboratively with respective functional teams in IT.
  • Consistently demonstrate professional, positive, and approachable attitude and discretion.
  • Demonstrate sensitivity in handling confidential information.
  • Formulate and clearly communicate ideas to others.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge / Experience

  • Significant experience in managing the delivery of technical services, together with project management experience in technical infrastructure areas.
  • Good understanding of Windows & LINUX Operating Systems.
  • Should be well versed with security (next generation firewalls, AV, DLP, Encryption)
  • Should have experience in storage & data transfer (SAN, NAS, FTP, Cloud)
  • In-depth knowledge of hardware, software, and user requirements, and managerial skills to supervise technical personnel in a service-oriented environment.
