A new, fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Maintenance Manager for a leading global tier 1 automotive organisation The Maintenance Manager is to drive reliability and efficiencies in the plant's machinery, equipment, and tooling. Reporting to the Manufacturing Engineering Manager, the Maintenance Manager needs to be a technically inclined leader capable of leading a team of maintenance operatives and technicians in a manufacturing environment. With extensive experience with Lean Manufacturing, continuous process improvement, and Total Predictive Maintenance.

The Maintenance Manager has overall responsibility for the cost effective, timely, and appropriate maintenance of all equipment in the plant. Responsible for the leadership and development of a team of maintenance operatives and technicians, you will set the tone for pro-active maintenance activities. Additionally, the manager oversees daily troubleshooting activities as well as preventative and predictive maintenance efforts, schedules employees and projects.

In return, you will get a competitive salary of GBP55,000 to GBP60,000 per annum, working a day shift, plus a rewarding benefits package

As a Maintenance Manager, your key responsibilities will include:

* Lead maintenance team to observe all safety programs that help ensure the protection of all plant employees and visitors.

* Coordinates with engineering staff when necessary to facilitate project completions.

* Represents the company's position and interest in dealing with outside contractors, vendors, and engineering consultants. Prepares purchase orders for the acquisition of equipment and services as appropriate.

* Oversee the continuous monitoring of production and process equipment for proper operation.

* Create, implement, and maintain preventative maintenance program of production including inspection of plant equipment and inventory replenishing system for parts.

* Prepare daily activity plans for maintenance team personnel

* Practice good management principles and adhere to established best practices in hiring, promoting, directing, reviewing, disciplining and motivating employees

To be successful in the role of Maintenance Manager, you must be able to demonstrate the following:

* B.S. in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or B.S and equivalent work experience

* At least 10+ years of supervisory experience in a sizable manufacturing environment

* Demonstrated track record of job progression, stability, and measurable impact

* High energy and a sense of urgency

* Excellent communication skills

* Ability to manage multiple and changing priorities and deadlines

* Commitment to continual process improvement and quality standards

This position is based in Birmingham and is easily commutable from West Bromwich, Sutton Coldfield, Smethwick and Walsall.
