We are seeking an up and coming TOOLMAKER to work on a days' basis maintaining & servicing a wide range of complex press tools in the in-house tool room of a successful manufacturer of pressed metal products situated in the Redditch area. A starting salary in the region of GBP26,000 to GBP30,000 depending on experience is offered, plus overtime and genuine opportunities for personal development.

The successful TOOLMAKER will be responsible for:

* Maintenance & repair of complex press tools

* Strip down & assembly of tooling

* Working to tight tolerances from drawings

* Producing replacement parts for tooling

* Scheduled servicing of press tools

To be successful as a TOOLMAKER with this business you will possess the following skills and experience:

* Repair & mods or new toolmaking experience

* Press tool experience is ideal

* Fault finding & diagnosis of tooling issues

* Proficient in conventional turning, milling, grinding & polishing

* CNC machining & spark erosion skills would be advantageous but not essential

This opportunity will suit an up and coming TOOLMAKER hoping to develop their skills under the mentorship of very knowledgeable & experienced colleagues or an experienced generalist seeking to specialize in press tooling.
