Junior Sous Chef or Chef De Partie
We currently have a vacancy for a Junior Sous Chef or Chef De Partie looking for a step up in their next challenge.
The Plum Pudding in Armitage near Rugeley is an independent Bar/Restaurant situated alongside the Trent Mersey canal serving home-made and Italian cuisine.
We use fresh ingredients and you will need to demonstrate good all round cooking skills with the ability to cook to high standards when under pressure in order to work alone two days per week in the head chef's absence and cover holidays. It is therefore essential that you also have the experience to support and supervise kitchen staff as well as working alongside the head chef.
We currently offer an 'a la carte' menu, a bar menu, plus additional set menus available Monday to Thursday as well as a Sunday roast menu. From June through until August we replace our bar menu with a Tapas menu.
During the warmer months customers tend to enjoy dining 'al fresco' and during this time you may be required to work additional hours paid at an hourly rate.
Working a 35 hour week this vacancy provides the opportunity for a great work life balance.
Salary/Hourly rate is negotiable dependent on experience.
The ideal candidate will be eager to assist the head chef in pushing the business to the next level with food service. As we are looking to develop and move forward this role will be key to the success of the venue.
Experience in Italian cuisine preferred but not essential.
This is a full time permanent position and includes meals on duty and a share of the tips.
