About the Overall Objective:

  • To drive annual account revenue and profitability and to manage the full product lifecycle for own-label products for the John Lewis account and manage the day to day relationship at Head Office level.

About the Responsibilities:

  • Conduct monthly audits of the brand, competitors, category, customer and consumer trends to monitor marketplace performance
  • Analysing sales data, understanding/predicting industry fashion consumer trends specifically for John Lewis
  • Identification, creation and commercialisation of new product opportunities which fulfil market and customer needs to deliver required margins and a cohesive, cogent pricing architecture
  • Working collaboratively to execute packaging designs, promotional campaigns, literature and POS consistent with the range, to deliver sales and profit growth based on customer objectives
  • Liaison with UK and Far East manufacturing partners to identify suitable suppliers and negotiate prices to ensure maximum profitability
  • An exit strategy of discontinued products from the assigned portfolio in order to maximise profit and customer inventory continuity
  • Ensuring each sign off stage/gate on the critical path is followed
  • Stakeholder and cross-functional management of people, influencing others, winning business cases and building strong relationships internally and externally

About the Requirements:

  • This is an excellent opportunity for a talented Product, Category or Brand Manager that is excited about a new challenge, or a B2B person that has a natural flair for trends/consumer goods
  • A very 'Product' focussed Key/National Account Manager will be considered as long as you are not too 'salesy'
  • Analytical, comfortable with Excel and data
  • Knowledge of John Lewis would be an advantage
  • Able to spot gaps, write and propose business plans
  • Passionate about Product. Driven to be successful and have a competitive edge
