IP Manager - Worcestershire - Very competitive salary

IP Manager is required to join a high technology design and engineering company in Worcestershire to work alongside the Director of IP. You must have experience of IP management as well as developing strategies and pipelines of trademarks to join this world leading technology company in their field.

As an IP Manager you must have experience/qualifications in:

* Excellent written English and report writing skills.

* Experience of IP management.

* A leader able to inspire trust, confidence and respect at all organisational levels.

* Experience implementing initiatives within a diverse global organisation.

* Ability to analyse, challenge and persuade; able to act as a catalyst for change.

* Degree and ideally a higher qualification in engineering, the physical or life sciences.

* 5+ years' experience of IP management in a commercial organisation, including carrying out freedom to-operate reviews, patent monitoring, reviewing projects and providing guidance to patent/trademark attorneys.

* Possessing a thorough understanding of global IP legislation and its impact.

Main responsibilities of the IP Manager include:

* Carrying out project reviews to ensure that IP risks and opportunities are addressed.

* Managing the patents and trademarks pipeline

* Developing IP strategies for protecting key technology areas.

* Monitoring and responding to restrictive third-party patents and trademarks.

* Ensuring that the organisation has a high awareness of IP.

* Working closely with the legal team to manage infringement cases.

* Completing IP due diligence in support of acquisitions, licences and investments.

* Negotiating IP agreements and assisting the Legal and Procurement Departments during the negotiation/drafting of IP T&Cs in commercial agreements.

* Ensuring intra-group agreements are transfer price compliant and data is provided to Finance as necessary to optimise tax position.

* Management of the IP budget.

* Contributing to the development of the global IP Function by mentoring as appropriate.
