Reed Education are working with a Secondary Schools in Walsall who are looking to appoint English, graduates to Cover Supervisor posts for the remainder of the academic year 2018/19 with the possibility of them then securing a further contract for the 2019/20 academic year!

Reed Education are currently working with a client in Walsall who are looking to identify a high calibre graduate with a degree in English for an initial 1 term contract as a Cover Supervisor for the Summer Term with the possibility of a further 1 year Cover Supervisor contract for the coming academic year 2019/20. The post is initially offered on either a 3 or 4 day a week basis depending on what suits the successful applicant, though the role could be full time for September.

The position is offered to Graduate level candidates who are looking at gaining school based experience to support teacher training applications or those that are maybe considering a post in Education but who want to gain experience in the sector before committing to Teacher Training. The role will see you supporting pupils within the school's English department and you will support pupils in all key stages.

The position on offer is that of a Cover Supervisor, which will see the successful candidate taking on a broad range of duties. Initially whilst building their experience candidates may find themselves predominantly supporting Class Teachers, doing 1-1 support or taking small groups of pupils who require intervention due to falling behind their targeted attainment levels or the gifted and talented who have progressed beyond the rest of their class. When confident (Be that 1 day in, 1 month in or further on into their role) the successful applicants will also cover for class teachers who are away for courses, absent through sickness or for any other reason. This will see the successful applicants provided with planning and tasked with delivering those plans/lessons to pupils much like a teacher would. Depending on the ability level and competence of the individual there may be the opportunity to take on even more responsibility.
