This global enterprise that works with customers across virtually all industries has been established in the UK for over 50 years. The company global workforce is over 50,000 strong with a presence in nearly 100 countries. Their facility in Warwick designs, develops and manufactures a variety of solutions for mobile applications.

The company is now looking to appoint a Supplier Development Engineer to assist with key mobile platform projects and in doing so help grow the business and deliver premier customer service. This is a newly created role within the Supply Chain Quality Team

Responsibilities include:

• Management and development of suppliers during the prototype phase of projects through to production release

• Understanding of technical requirements to support correct supplier selection

• Support and engage in design reviews to promote solutions that are easy to purchase, maximise quality and minimise cost

• Purchasing and control of prototype and low rate production hardware to ensure premier customer service and allow smooth transfer to full series production

• Conduct supplier visits and audits to ensure alignment and optimised performance

• Progress 8D and A3 investigations to ensure corrective actions for quality issues are successfully completed

• Participate in high performing team (HPT) activities to ensure good team-working

• Work within a lean environment and adopt lean principles

• Liaise with Quality and EHS to ensure standards are maintained

Qualifications, Skills & Experience Required:

• Degree level education (or equivalent) in an engineering, quality or supply chain subject

• Excellent 8D problem solving skills

• Excellent communication and team working skills

• Experience of supplier development

• Proficient in Microsoft Office and Project, JD Edwards experience would be of benefit

• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings

• Experience of manufacturing capabilities

• Innovative in approach to solution generation

• Have a positive, pro-active attitude

• Keen Lean practitioner, with knowledge of Lean enterprise

• Full driving licence and be prepared to travel in the UK and overseas
