Role Profile:

• To provide competent Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) advise to the telent NRTS business.

• To ensure implementation of the EHS Management System relevant to the telent NRTS business operations and as detailed within the telent Management System.

• To provide support in the ongoing maintenance of the telent Management System and Hazard Logs.

• To promote a positive health and safety culture throughout the organisation.

Typical Deliverables:

• Support the adoption of all relevant EHS legislation, Customer and stakeholder EHS requirements (including Contractors and suppliers)

• Support the adoption of industry best practice in all policies, safe working procedures and practices.

• Helping to plan, implement, monitor and review the protective and preventative measures that are identified by the hazard analysis and risk assessment process.

• Work with the EHS Manager to ensure that working practices are safe and comply with legislation.

• Outlining safe operating procedures, which identify and take account of all relevant hazards

• Conducting suitable and sufficient risk assessments, ensuring control measures are effective.

• Producing and reviewing Safe Systems of Work, Work Package Plans and Task Briefing Sheets.

• Advising project teams on safe systems of work and industry best practice, to ensure a culture of safety.

• Support the EHS Manager to ensure that all health and safety training for managers and employees is appropriate and training provided by external providers is adequate.

• Support the EHS Manager to ensure that all NHSS8 internal health and safety training for registered operatives is appropriate and that external training is adequate for the scope of activities.

• Undertaking regular site inspections and audits to check policies and procedures are being properly implemented.

• Recording findings from inspection and monitor through to close out.

• Supporting investigation of Incidents, Accidents, Near Misses and Close Calls, advising of changes and improvements in work practices that are identified.

• Supporting the production of Contract and Customer EHS statistics.

• Advising on a range of specialist areas, e.g. site based environmental compliance, fire regulations, hazardous substances, noise, safeguarding machinery and Occupational Health.

• Liaising with other Safety Professionals within the business and industry.

What we are looking for from you:

• Working knowledge of EHS legislation.

• Practical use of Microsoft Office applications and IT based Document Management Systems.

• Knowledge of operational telecommunications within traffic / transport environments and their associated risks.

• Prepared to work towards an industry recognised Health and Safety, e.g. NEBOSH certificate.
